Pierson School - Plastic Bag Challenge

Pierson School students collected approximately 9,000 plastic bags during the challenge.  This is 9,000 bags that won’t end up in a landfill, which is a huge victory!  If we laid those bags end to end, they would reach over 4.6 km.

Hopefully with messages of reducing plastic bag use, we will have fewer bags to donate next year, but just as much buzz and excitement.

The grade 3/4 class is almost exactly 59 bags long.  Our students range in height from 3 plastic bags to 5 plastic bags tall!

This is what 9,000 bags look like stuffed in a minivan ready to be recycled!
